Children with special educational needs and disabilities
Some family hubs run activities suitable for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Your child does not need a diagnosis to attend.
These include:
- parent and child signing
- play groups
- sensory rooms
We also offer courses for parents of children with SEND.
We hold activities and courses in person at family hubs, or online. Check the 'Additional needs' category on the guides in activities and courses.

Local Offer
The Local Offer is for children and young people with SEND, and their families.
It has two parts:
- East Sussex Local Offer explains how to apply for SEND support
- Local Offer on East Sussex 1Space is a directory of support services from East Sussex County Council, charities and other providers.
Sensory rooms
Our sensory rooms are free. The rooms are particularly beneficial to children with SEND. But are also suitable for all children aged 0 to 5 years old.
