Team Around the Family (TAF)
Families often face multiple challenges. When a family is struggling there are often multiple difficulties that they are trying to cope with and when these difficulties are tackled early on, they can be resolved more easily.
The Team Around the Family (TAF) is here to provide you with coordinated, early support to help families deal with these challenges.
How can we help?
As someone working with children and families, you are the crucial first link. When problems start to emerge, here's how you can get support:
- Contact the consultation advice line
You might just need some reassurance that you’re giving the right advice. For a conversation, you can call the consultation advice line. - Referral to a Team Around the Family (TAF) Coordinator
If the conversation reveals that more support is needed from other professionals, we can refer you to a Team Around the Family (TAF) Coordinator. We will send you a referral form if we decide to do this.
What is a Family First Adviser?
The Family First Adviser is a trusted professional who is the family's main point of contact. They are often the person with the best relationship with the family.
If that is you, the TAF Coordinator is there to support you in this role.
What does the TAF Coordinator do?
The TAF Coordinator will:
- help everyone understand what’s going on
- identify what kind of help will make the most difference
- help you make an assessment and create a plan, in collaboration with the family
- bring together support and expertise from a range of professionals - this could also include extended family and friends.
